My pellet smoker acts up sometimes when it is real cold out.  I think the pellets in the tube get moisture on them and then freeze in the auger tube.  No big deal but not up to dealing with it so I am doing a rack of ribs in the oven for the first time.  They are thawing out now.  I plan on double foiling them and then bake them at 300 for 2-2 1/2 hrs.  Then take them out and sauce them and finish on the grill.  Will be faster than when I do them on the smoker too.  Fun to do new things...

Try rubbing them with some maple syrup before the bbq sauce.....I tried that for sh**ts and giggles one day, and they were great...maple ribs with a smoky BBQ taste...  Whatever ya have on hand is worth a try, something I've put on em, OJ, apricot jam, peach jam, honey......

Katchup is way to pretentious for me Glenn.  I am not a fancy guy.   :rotflmao: :rotflmao:  I may do the some honey though.  I have some of that.  I did spice them up with my go to combo:  Lawrys, onion powder, garlic powder, pepper, chili powder and since they won't be smoked I put a good liquid smoke on them.  I also put a sprinkle of sugar on them instead of brown sugar. I think we will have some green beans with them.  lol

When I first read this earlier Lps,  I was thinking " what are you thinking " but after the last post you might be onto something!! Trying something different ourselves,  treated these bone in chops like fish. A little egg wash then Italian panco,  paired with cheesy taters, a veggie and lefse.. we'll see!
