Late season white tail hunting, then ice fishing starting in January, and ice skating with my kids.

My biggest fish I ever pulled up through the ice was a 27" Walleye a couple of winters ago.  It was a really nice fish, we took a picture of it and put it back down the hole.  If it's not bigger then the one I have on our wall, we always let the big one's go back.  gg

A 5 lb Nor-dern dat I caught up Nort at da cabin.

It hit my line then hit my brother in laws line.  We didn't know until we both started reeling in.  We went back and forth like the little rascals.  I'd reel and his would run.  He'd reel and mine would run.  Finally ended up cutting my line and pulling it up through his hole.  We kinda shared the credit on that one -- then shared the meat.   ;D

Illinois, six hours. I did a lot of fishing in Montana while I was out there but I wasn't there just for fishing. I was there for taxidermy school does that count? I did go antelope and bear hunting while I was there also.

My longest trip so far was this year when I traveled 350 miles north to Upper Red Lake for Deer Camp with Outdoors_Junkie, Big D, dabahrden, Bigbuckhunter, and the rest of the Jim Moline Gang.

What a blast!! It was well worth the trip and hopefully this will be an annual excursion for Deer Camp as well as a few trips for Grouse hunting and a little hard water fishing as well.

I traveled to northern MN from Spearfish, SD to go deer hunting this year.  I would estimate that it is 550 miles to Owatonna from my place in Speafish, then I road up to Waskish with Realtree, so add on another 350 miles.  The total would be about 900 miles.

I flew on a plane with my father, to California, to fish crappie on a lake called El Capitan.
That was a blast, lake was way up in  the hills.

I'd like to go fishing in South America for bonefish and peacock bass. I'd also like to go sailfishing or tarpon fishing. As far as hunting I'd like to go to alaska and arrow a grizzly. That or Africa.

Not sure about the coldest, but i've fished Upper Red Lake when it was -30+ below, the last time was 3 years ago, it was -30+ and very windy, we were fishing in my Frabill portable, the black canvas was totally white from the frost and ice.

Crazy cold that weekend!

- 38 on Mille Lacs in January 1977 I believe. We kept starting and running my brother's Scout off and on throughout the night; it was fine. Other guy thought we were nuts, was convinced his 3 on the tree Dodge pickup would start; didn't hardly budge. Resort owner towed it off the ice and the gear lube in the rear end was so stiff the rear wheels wouldn't turn even when it was out of gear.

We fished Crow lake in Canada, in 92 I believe (have to check it with my wife)
Anyway, the temp was -29 and the wind was wip'en with gusts up to 40 mph.
I had a international pick up box trailer with a blue topper on it that we brought with.
We were catching 3-6 in. perch, sticking them on the side of the topper and they would freeze.

Looked like an aquarium.

The canadian conservation didn't like it, he made sure I cleaned every one.

I don't have an exact temp but it was near zero with high winds.  It was on my birthday and I told my wife "Im fishing and nothings going to stop me."  I was drilling holes trying to find a certain depth and then I noticed the auger was freezing up like a wick dipped in wax.  So I decided to set up camp and none too soon as my hands were going numb.  I had so much trouble setting up the clam because of the wind but finally got it up.  I get in there and fire up old Mr Heater and had my hands in front of it warming up -- for a few seconds until the gas dribbled down to nothing.  CRAP!! I didn't fill my propane tank  :banghead:  I thought it had gas but nooooo.   :bonk:   Now I had to tear everything down and go get gas, come back, set up again and fish.   :party1:   I was so determined to fish, I wasn't going home with my tail between my legs.  Caught a few little ones but didn't keep anything.
