My retired Aunt and Uncle go to Alaska most summers pulling a camper.  I think they said it takes 7 500 mile days.  Each way. They know where the next campground is as their daily destinations.  I used to think that sounded fun but no way in heck would I do that now.

I would love to do that! I was talking to the wife about maybe taking a trip out west next for our 30th anniversary.

That Duramax of yours would make it fun.  My Ram is pretty darn good but not to go that far.

Good morning All.  nice and cool here this morning but no rain for us.  We need about three or four days of nice steady rain. It has split and gone around us.  The lake levels are dropping fast.  Doing some land scaping and tree planting today with the cooler weather.

That's crazy your furnace kicked in lps. I highly recommend running out west JB, so much to see and places to stay. Although our trips are camper less we pull off 800 + miles in a day, sure do wish we ran thru Grand Teton while we were close 3 weeks ago, oh well maybe next time. Thinking on going to the Ozarks next year, more to see than just MN if ya aks me...

Mornin all, 63 here & we won't get much above 71, I'm hearin. Got a few sprinkles too, but I put my clothes on the line anyway. Need a few things, so we're headed to GR today. There'll be a stop at the license bureau in DR too as the old red trailer is changing hands. 'Bout it here, have a good 1.

Morning boys.  Cool breezy 60 here and headed for 74 it looks.  We ended up with about 3/8" of rain yesterday.  Kept spitting all day on and off.  Will park the camper today.  Need to mow when it dries up some.  Cloudy now so feels like rain but not supposed to get any.  800 miles a day Bobb.  You are an animal.  I talked to a guy at the campgrounds and told him 430 miles a day is too much for me.  He said they go all over the country and about 300 a day is what they do.  That is more my speed.  Although not pulling a camper would help too.  Have a good one boys.

Ouch Bobber, 800 miles in a day? Did that one Spring 40 years ago when I was younger working for a construction outfit hauling equipment. Ran that on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday then half on Thursday (outbound) and back home on Friday. About 14 Mountain Dews and three packs of cigarettes a day. Won't even think of doing it again. Today's project is to prep a rack of ribs after coffee this morning. tossing them on the smoker around 2ish and who knows what else. Too hot to be outside. we'll see, later.... :happy1: :happy1:

Morning boys. 61 here at Federal Dam, heading for mid 70s today. It was a cool one yesterday. Never rained down here though. After everyone left we ate some lunch, cleaned the camper and cleaned the boat out too from beach day. Then we went and showered. Then it was time for  :campfire: and  :toast:. Cooked some baked potatoes and did pike on the grill. I lay the fillets on tinfoil, sprinkle some lawreys on them. Then I cut up onions, green peppers and tomatoes on top. Then I put zesty Italian salad dressing on and out on the grill until it flakes. Then I poke holes in the tinfoil to let it dry out some. Mighty tasty. Hoping to get some boat time in today. Have a good one boys.

About 8 years ago we had a wedding to go to on Las Cruces New Mexico. We drove it in one shot each way, six of us in a rented Dodge Caravan, unlimited mileage. The drive home was rough staying awake. The guy at Enterprise was sure surprised at how many miles we put on that thing. I think it was over 1200 miles down there. If it don't kill you it makes you stronger.

When I lived down in Becker we would go up to Tobin fishing. It was a 16 hour drive and I would d that in one shot. After moving up north it knocked it down to 10 hours. Don't remember the milage. I think the biggest expense to going out west will be fuel. Need to try to save up for that.

Morning boys.  The deck is wet like we had some precip awhile ago.  Cloudy and breezy now.  Gonna get up to 78 today with showers tonight.  I have to go to town to pay some bills so will bring Jake and Cooper along.  Jake is growing fast.  He is a lot bigger than he was.  Still a little puppy compared to Cooper.  Got some mowing done yesterday and wanted to finish it today.  Will have to wait for it to dry up a bit first.  Have a good one boys.

Headed to auction this morning in a bit. Might not cost too much as some of the things I wanted to bid on are already at my price online. We will see. A set of four smaller JD signs are already at 1,050 dollars. Hopefully there's someone with bottled water there. Have a great day all, later.... :happy1: :happy1:

Mornin boys, 63 to start again today & 80 will be our high. Still have a few clothes on the line from yday & they're still wet this morning. Most of 'em were in by 7 last night though. It's lookin like the HB feeders are my #1 priority to start today & I'll see what jumps out at me after that. We do ~ 400 miles each time we go back & forth from here, that's enough for us. No more now, have a good day.

Morning boys. 63 here and heading for 80 also at Federal Dam. It was a cool crappy day yesterday, so we made a run over to Walker. The wife is doing laundry this morning. I brought here a thermos of coffee. Now I am sitting here sipping my unleaded coffee. We should get some boat time in today. Have a good one boys.

Well, didn't think you can go to Walker without going there.  :happy1: Ya, back in June we decided to extend our stay since the campsite was open and go to the Great White, Tesla and Quiet Riot concert at the casino Saturday. Should be fun.

Well auction went well yesterday. Unfortunately my pockets weren't deep enough to buy what I was looking at. For an example a pair of yellow and green John Deere signs went for $2,600.00, a black one with the old style deer on it went for $4,200.00. I was looking at an "81" caddy and a 302 John Deere. They both sold for about three times what I was prepared to pay for them. Back to Craigslist for me. Sun is just popping up over the tree line so I best get going, later... :happy1: :happy1:

Have fun Saturday JB.

Morning boys.  Man I wish I had a shed full of old JD signs.  It is 65 here and headed for 83.  Cloudy here again.  Feels like rain but that isn't supposed to happen till tonight.  I need to go fill the gas cans up today.  May do some weed whipping too.  That is as far ahead as I can forecast for now.  Sounds like a good and relaxing time JB.  Feeling a little better every day so that makes me feel good.  Well you all have a good one. Nice walleye Gunner.
