Good afternoon....   Well got the deer butchered.  Now I will grind it and add hamburger and that will last us all year on the burger front.  My favorite thing to do with my deer.  Will also make some summer sausage.  Not sure if I will order from Curleys or get a High Mountain mix here at the grocery store.  Cold as heck here.  Windy too.  The river is froze over and the ice quit moving today.  Ice fishing is coming up fast now.  Love sitting in my fish house for a couple of hours each afternoon/early evening.  I listen to Garage Logic and catch fish.....     :happy1:  Maybe a cocktail or two...

Went over to Brownsville to see the swans.  Pretty mind boggling.   Sort of chilly.  Should have put on the snow pants.

Totally worth the trip.

You are too heavy to pick up?   Don't know your address or real identity?  Got my own binocs?
Saw Eagles my own self? Didn't want to expose my wife to the dark side ?

Pick your choice.

With my luck you would have whipped  out your 1911 and blasted one of the trumpeter swans mixed in and I would have had to go your bail.

Happy Veterans Day to you Mike.  21 here too but only heading to 29 here.  Of course when I am back to work on Monday it is supposed to be 40.  The river stayed froze but there is a 40' open shot of water along my shoreline.  One year that didn't freeze till Jan.  That has only happened once.  Had a lot of current that year for some reason.  We are heading to Warroad shopping today.  Not much there but just fun to get out of town now and then.  I won a $50 gift certificate to the Marvin Home Center so will see if they have something there for me to buy......

Yup had a great week off and it did seem different than other time off.  It did seem like Retirement training.  The earliest I can go is Oct 1 of 2018.  Of course the longer I work the more the SS goes up but my PERA doesn't go up much after next year.  I am thinking that is the target date.  Most people tell me to go as soon as I can.  I can always get a job driving tractors or trucks for farmers in the spring and fall for more spending money so should be fine there....  The wife is alright with whatever I do so that is nice.  One of my friends is talking about going in 2 years.  He said his wife will be mad as hell if he doesn't get up and go to work every morning.  lolol  She thinks he is working for 5 more years.  I think it is hilarious...   Glad it is not an issue here....

Happy Veterans Day weekend, fellers. Drizzly and frizzly. 29* Supposed to be freezing snizzle off and on all day. Good day for me to sit and watch the new neighbors move in. (The lazy slobs next door moved back to Iowa, good riddance)  After seeing all the "diverse types" with 15 people in their families pull up in the overloaded 1985 dodge caravans with one hubcap, and looking at the place for the last month, (Why do they think it's OK to have 12 people live in a 3 bedroom single residence house?!) think I lucked out. Nice couple in early thirties, she works as a kiddie teacher at a school, and he works for an overhead garage door company. (His Dad's) We shall see....time will tell. Could be far worse. Can't be all bad, he drives a black 4wd pickup with an NRA sticker on it.  ;)  Gotta go hang out the flag...have a good one, guys.... :coffee:

Mornin boys, 34 & damp as we had some light rain during the night. It looks like it brought down most of the leaves that were still hangin on. So that'll be a project for the next couple days, before the city comes around again. A big game for the Vikings today, other than that not much happening here. Hope you have a good 1.

22 here and real damp feeling outside.  Think we will bring some round bales out to the horses in case we get snow here.  Don't want to get the ol Ford stuck in the pasture.  Got the venny/beef/pork summersausage in the casings yesterday so will do the cooking of it today.  Looking forward to the Vikes today too.  I would have liked to watch the Dallas game and hope they lose with Elliot out but I think it is at the same time as the Vikes.  Have a great day all.

Mornin,  pooch has been walked and paper has been thumbed through. Well the weekend was going good until I filled the l.p. smoker with sausages and beef sticks to find out the regulater took a chit, so everything got thrown on the charcoal offset which ran hot on one end and not so on the other....think I dried the snot otta them. Hoping for a vikes victory today!!!

Well, that's no way to start the day, Bobber! Sucks!  Ranks right up there with yer cawfee pot crapping out when ya plug it in...I HAVE to have those two cups right away. I use the Mr Coffee little 4 cup one, this model is getting really hard to find,so when I went out to get t a new one, I grabbed two. They're cheap, and seem to crap out after about a year or so anyway. Got the spare on hand, just in case....  :azn:
