What a great sunrise to start this fine labor day,52 out the door, sun feels good already, seen the first sign of waterfowl migration this morning whilst walking the pup, most likely northern minnesota birds that got knocked around this weekend? giant V  way up in the stratosphere,so high I couldn't make out the white chin gear but could hear the honker clucks plain as day.

chores yesterday getting ready for fall, power washed the house, picnic table and  aluminum utility trailer, gall dang mower and power equipment oil leaks, used a product call "aluma-brite" did a great job on the trailer and also cleaned-up the concrete patio with it,she looks brand new.

kickin back monday today, smokin a cigar later, then fire up the charcoal grill, got a big pork shoulder roast in a mustard/dry rub since friday, think a applewood smoke is in order.

Making a trip to the land this afternoon.  Picked up a bunch of T-Posts and welded wire from nephew and plant to start fencing some white and burr oaks that the deer keep eating to a shrub.  I plan to protect some of the ones that look like they would take off if protected.  I have enough material to fence a dozen or so.  Sounds a bit feeble considering there are 100's of them in the CRP  :bonk:

Accu weather says 78 for a high today.  I mowed with a long sleeve shirt and kept waiting for the sun to peek out.  It did for 30 seconds.  Froze my butt off.  Still only 65 windy and cloudy out.  Was 63 when I came in from mowing.  Gonna put that beef arm roast in the oven and after an hour throw in the spuds, celery, carrots etc.  Love a good pot roast.  Just kicking back for the rest of the day.

Morning boys. 55 here hers for 72 today. Back from the weekend in Effie. Kinda nice to get off the grid for awhile. The weather could have been a little nicer. Kept getting rain squalls come thru Saturday afternoon and most of Sunday. Didn't get in as much wheelin as I was hoping to. Still had a good weekend though. Had some good camp fires saturday and Sunday night. So back to the grind. Just another day in the salt mines. Have a good one boys.

I did get my yard cut yesterday mike, and a round of golf in. Looks like there may be some chainsaw projects going on today. One poplar down yet from last storm and just got the blessings to take down a flowering crab that was planted too close to the house. Took two five gallon pails of crap out the gutter last week from that thing. Enough. Going to replace it with another apple tree. Have a great day, later... :happy1: :happy1:

Morning boys.  Windy here today.  I am going to go to town to do some things.  Daddy needs new shoes.  LOL  Hope they have some at Ronnings.  Got our kennel project all buttoned up.  Will be handy as heck.  Now the dogs will be ok even if we are gone for a few days.  The wife got automatic feeders too.  Have a great day!

Now that yer retired, ya need a super comfy pair of great slip-ons.  I love mine. Only ones I can walk in without spinal pain. Even my spinal doc recommended 'em.  I have 3 pairs...gray, tan, brown.

Us diabetics always have chilly feet... It's unreal how great they are to walk in. When I was on duty, my feet would destroy a pair of shoes every month...I've had every brand from Reebok walkers to Mason to all the other black duty shoes. We walked 12-16 miles a day, (so said our pedometers) inside and out thru all kinds of weather. But comparing all those shoes and inserts to the Merrells, not even close for comfort.

I have an old pair of Merrels leather slip ons and I want another pair of them.  That is exactly what I hope they have in stock.  The ones I have now I have glued the soles back on a few times and are so comfortable.  Hope the new ones feel as good.

Walking shoe's....  my job had me on my feet 6-10hrs/day x 6 days, for years I bought the mailmen's walking show's,comfy but hot during summer month's,sweaty feet.

Then one day snooping around cabela's I came across a walking shoe ,made in europe, low cut, indistructable griping sloe, lite weight, and they breath, they have a moisture wicking cork insole,4 years going on 5 years still in great shape.Spendy but long lasting and my feet are thankful.

Afternoon gang! 66 at choretime heading for a sunny high in the mid-70's. They've changed their minds from cloudy & 72 earlier. Spent much of the forenoon doing my annual checkup, getting a blood draw while being poked and prodded. Nothing on the surface wrong with me but that's why they run tests: so they can make money off of me!  Did need my tetanus shot updated so got that in the process. Otherwise, a typical day after Labor Day that seems like a Monday. It is Tuesday, right? See? Dementia's setting in already!  :doah:
