Mornin' comrades! 30 at choretime heading for a high in the mid-60's. Best of all, not much wind. Planting is going warp speed and by the weekend, most corn and a lot of the soybeans should be in the ground. Holding pattern for us as we wait for crop to emerge. At least what's been in the ground since mid-April looks healthy & hasn't rotted in the ground. Stopped at the kindly neighbor's place yesterday. He's going in for major back surgery tomorrow. Probably be laid up for most of the summer so will help him and his wife out when needed. They're close to 80 & can't do a lot of heavy lifting. Will go over there this weekend to get the electric fence operational. Once it warms up, we should be able to dump some ewes over there in the pasture. That'll give Jim something to gawk at. He loves to watch the birds too so will make sure the bluebird houses there are ready to go while I'm at it.

Morning boys. 40 here and heading for mid 50s today. We dang near hit 80 yesterday. Seen 78 on more than one thermometer. Only down side is I seen a big fat skeeter too. So now I'm ready for winter again.  ;)  Well the MAF sensor was not the cure. Think it may just be easier to  :banghead: . I think that would be less painful. Otherwise just getting ready for another day in the salt mines. Have a good one boys.

Morning boys.  They sure make it difficult to work on things nowadays.  It is 38 here and a beautiful morning.  Calm too.  I need to fill the Ranger and the gas cans today so will need a loan for that.  Then will fire up the wood splitter and split some birch.  I take the odd pieces to the campsite.  Planning on a campfire this weekend if not earlier.  The wife reminded me we need new tabs on the camper so will do that online this morning.  Man that is enough for one day.   :sleazy:

Mornin guys, 42 here & on our way to 66, I hear. Got the boat in the garage just before noon yday & put the rear battery in after lunch. May work on that a little today too but it's going to be pretty nice again, so there's no hurry. Besides, plenty of outside things to do yet too. 'Bout it here, have a good 1.

Good morning All.   Just back from a trip to Lake Erie.  We caught quality fish but the weather out there was horrible.  Rain, sleet, thunder, lightning and WIND every single day.  I found out that the Lund can fly. It does really well on the take off and launch. You can get them completely airborne.  However, that landing is pretty rough.    First time I have ever been literally black and blue from fishing.

This was a bucket list trip.   I can say I have been there, done that and won't do it again. Biggest issue is that there is no place to fish when the weather's like that.  Not like you can get in a bay anywhere or hide behind a point or even go to a different lake out there.

Just got done prepping a rack of ribs for the Pit Boss this afternoon. Did a round of stick removal yesterday, then filled the roller half full of water and rolled the yard, all four acres. Found a spot I need to de-thatch today. Then I thinks I may burn up the rest of the grass seed and fertilizer in the garage, fire up a sprinkler and have a beer. Have a great day all, Later..... :happy1: :happy1:

Mornin' comrades! 46 at choretime heading for a high in the mid-70's. Saw 70 yesterday at one point on the pickup thermometer. Waseca topped out at 71 at the SROC. Most still have the hammer down planting. There are several who are done with corn and have switched to soybeans. Conditions are ideal so no reason not to. Couldn't believe how quickly the soil moisture wrinkled the seed coats on soybeans planted no more than 10 minutes before I dug them up while checking planting depth. A good chance of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow so it's a good day to leave farmers alone. I should stop at the meat market on my way out of town tonite to grab something to grill. Out of leftovers, again. Also need to check with them to see how their USDA inspection/certification is coming along. May have a new local market for some of our lamb soon.  :happy1:

$3.33 at the Kwop & $3.35 at Casey's last check. The unleaded 88 (15% ethanol) is usually ~ a dime cheaper than the regular unleaded there.

Morning boys. 37 here and heading for 54 today. Ya, the ice has really changed the last couple of days. The main sheet is starting to move around now. Now I am thinking it will be gone by opener. Which is another subject . I think they should move the opener back a couple weeks up here. Well just getting ready for another day in the salt mines. Have a good one boys.

Mornin all, 43 here & we'll see 63 later. Put 1 of the TM batteries in the boat, going to replace the other, put the earmuffs & hose on it. Gave the fuel bulb 3-4 squeezes & it fired the 1st time it rolled over. There was a pretty big low area in the yard that we put a bunch of black dirt in last fall that I've been working on too. Got that seeded, raked, & gave it drink yday too. That's where I'll start today. 'Bout it here, have a good day.

Went through about $100.00 of grass seed and fertilizer yesterday on the yard. Fired up a sprinkler and watered most of it while watching a rack of ribs smoke in the Pit Boss. They were yummy. Neighbor stopped by and grabbed the DR brush mower from the back yard so it's gone too. Not sure what going on today, headed to another banquet tonight, later..... :happy1: :happy1:

Mornin' comrades! 54 at choretime heading for a high in the upper 60's. Rain reputedly heading this way after lunch. We shall see. Would be nice for all the stuff that's been planted, put some of the nitrogen into solution and to activate some of the pre-emerge herbicides. Might help even the lawn & pasture even up some. Got the front yard all picked up so now it's just the backyard left to contend with. Every day is one step closer to weaning time at the ranch too. Some of those 1st dozen or so lambs are starting to push and shove a guy around just like the ewes do at feeding time. A rain so we can take inventory and make some roster moves would be beneficial as well.
