Morning boys.  23 here and may see 57 today.  Will believe it when I see it.  That is a heck of a deal Mike.  The other day when I saw the one boat that had broken thick ice to get on the river at Vidas.  Now the road is full of boats and trailers.  I was at the hardware store and they said some guys came in and bought shovels and ice chippers to break the ice.  Then a buddy showed me pics of a fiberglass boat that those guys had to break the ice.  When they got a hole big enough to launch they got the boat in and turned around.  Then they chopped ahead of them to move into the river.  They then would drive this real nice fiberglass boat up onto the ice and they would all jump up in the bow till the ice broke and kept doing it till they got to the hole on the Canada side where they shouldn't be fishing in the first place.  Unreal.  Must have been a borrowed or rented boat. The Frontier landing has such low water that big boats back off the concrete landing and get stuck with the wheels off that concrete so Birchdale and Vidas are the only places to launch bigger boats now.  Glad I don't fight those crowds.  Yes TGIF!  Hope to burn some wood whilst having a cocktail or two this weekend.  If it is nice I may have a fire going when the wife gets home.  I texted the mayor and told him I am ready to get the camper out of storage some morning when the ground is stiffer. Tis the season.  You all have a great day.  I am making ham and bean soup.

Good morning campers. Sunny, 29°, hardly a breeze. The potential is there for a great day.
Finished dismantling the old kennel yesterday. I haven't worked on that in several weeks. Pretty much just cleanup now.
Fired up the blower yesterday and ran all the gas out of it. Even though it only has about 2 hours of run time in it's entire life, I should probably change the oil, grease it and shoot some cable lube down the cables. Not urgent.
Think it might be a good day to build a new, sturdier chicken brooder.
      Stay safe everyone.
I used to be cute and adorable. Then, I had my first birthday. Been downhill ever since.

Well it looks like we're headed to Hubbard Co. for some wheeling today and tomorrow. Nice to get away for a day or two. I now have a banquet (gun bingo) and two funerals next week. I guess that is expected at our age, but still a bit depressing. Better get going. There's five things on my "to do" list this morning and a stop at Save Big Money before I even hook up the trailer. Later...... :happy1: :happy1:

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 27 at choretime heading for a high in the low to mid-50's. Making headway on apple tree pruning. Cooler weather has bought me some time but have to keep at it so it gets done soon. Wifey got home last nite just after 9 when Rockford was getting over. Good timing there. Have a soybean gall midge webinar to take in this a.m then need to make a feed run later today. Tomorrow could be a cluster with moving feeding equipment, round bales and sheep. Looking forward to it being done so chores can be streamlined and I don't need to make so many trips for hay. This hay fairy is getting tired.

I'm with you Barry. I don't go fight the crowds on the river either. I stay and fish the ice on the lake and catch fish there with no crowds. And you wouldn't catch me busting ice with my fiberglass boat. Those things are way to expensive to do stupid things like that.

I couldn't believe it when he showed me those pics and it was a real nice boat too.  I go fishing after I have my dock in.

Morning boys. 28 here and heading for mid 50s today. Should be a nice day out on the ice. Only downside is ESE wind at 10 to 20 they are predicting. If to windy that is what a portable is for. I put new hydax on the otter sled last night. It was in need . A couple of the old ones were worn completely thru. That was about a 5 beer project. Getting ready to go out fishing. Have a good one boys.

Morning boys. 30 here and may see 61 today.  Like JB said windy too.  Darn.  May effect our fire chances.  I got the yard and driveway all dragged yesterday.  I back dragged the driveway a few passes and then after dragging it it looks good too. One pot hole I didn't get completely level but will drive over it and do it again in a few weeks.   I see a boat fishing out here now.  Good luck JB.  Not sure what project I will attack today.  I will see what the wife has on her mind.  LOL  You all have a good one.

Morning All, getting the boat home from storage today. Get my electronic updated, and install a new lithium battery for my trolling motor. Won’t have to deal with those two size 31 back breakers anymore.

Just got our pit built as well. Rushed it to have some fires but will need to level off before summer.

Cool temps this morning and wind starting to pick up. Gonna take Lulu on a hike.

35 lb. Mine is a 24volt, so I only have one battery now.

Very nice. I see a regular group 31 battery is 77 lbs.  Yikes, no wonder they feel so heavy.

Mornin' fellow gulag comrades! 27 at choretime heading for a high in the upper 50's. Made my feed & FF run yesterday after replenishing the AW supply at DG. Putting out cutworm & armyworm traps after coffee. Then moving equipment & hay around. After that we'll see. I finished pruning the apple tree from hell after chores last nite so would like to finish the rest of them & the pear trees. Coffee's almost done

And they put the battery trays down in the hold under the rod storage where you have to bend down and lift on your knees.

I don't remember what group our boat batteries are but the lithiums can't be cheap.  As always mornin forum fellas,  ran some errands but fergot dog food so I'll hafta go back out. The pooches and I are waiting fer momma to get home from grocerie shopping then we'll go onna 2 Mile stroll,  hoping it'll set the Maisy's tone for the day, she was amped up earlier. Other than that gots a few outside projects lined up this afternoon,  I'm guessing a six pack will probably be harmed. Looking like the pellet grill will take care of a whole chicken for us later. Best run...See ya!!!

Oh yeah forgot to mention,  I pulled up to the pre pay or card only gas pumps at Kwik trip and whoever used it before me didn't get the handle put back right so the pump was still active. No way was gonna pump gas on someone else's dime, wiggled all the handles and it finally reset.  Didn't need that problem.

I did at first also, cuz I'm always going in the store for other things. At holiday now is a different story using the cub gas discount.  I basically have to guess and pre pay with the discount.  But the pumps are set up if I guess to high the remainder goes back on the card... Tough to get used to.
