Any place in town (Rochester) that sells fresh corn masa?   Thinking that pulled pork tamales would be pretty good.

Give El Gallo a call...289 0689. That's the one out on park lane SE. I have a sombrero if ya wanna borrow it... :rotflmao: Otherwise, yer favorite SlyVee, home of the ripoff, has a couple different bagged brands that I've seen. Like Quaker. Make some tostadas with some smushed pintos, and don't forget the sharp cheddar!  I can swing by to make sure yer doing it right a little later.

Sure, wally world sells instant masa.  I have never seen the fresh stuff anywhere.   Maybe I need a bushel of corn and some lime..... and a grinder.

It's quite simple,,,,,
Basic stuff is Venison stake chunks, potatoes, onions, carrots, and celery.  Add one can (15oz) tomato sauce and an 8oz box of minute tapioca.  Put in oven at 250 degrees for 3.5 hours.  Great the first time and even better heated up the next day.  Great for hunting camp when not everyone is there at the same time.

Since it's officially Fall, thought I'd share my apple-pork roast recipe. It's on the weekend menu. Enjoy.

    Reb's Apple- pork roast

One boneless 3lb Pork Butt Roast
Two cups good Fresh Apple Cider
Rosemary
Seasoned salt
Black pepper to taste
4 oz Cinnamon Apple Sauce (These are the “Snak Pak” size cups)
One  large Yellow Onion, sliced thin
One large apple, peeled, cored, and sliced thin

Marinate the roast in the cider in a Zip-Loc bag, in the fridge, for 6-8 hours, turning frequently.
Place roast in a greased baking dish, with some of the marinade. Sprinkle liberally with seasonings and lightly with the Rosemary.  Alternate layer slices of onions and apples on top. Pour apple sauce over top. Put in a 300* oven for 45 mns to one hour, uncovered.  Cover and cook  for 30- 45 mns- longer or until meat thermometer registers 155-160*. Do not overcook. Let sit covered for 15 minutes before slicing.
Enjoy!

Homemade bacon cheeseburglar pizza, with pickles. After the bacon was fried the burger was browned in the grease..In the oven now,  never had it but we'll see.

I made ricotta-stuffed tortellini with marinara sauce and fresh grated parmesan. Garlic toast.
