We just got back from a pontoon ride and it was even hot on the river.  Thankfully we have the top or it would have been real bad.  We have sat and done very little today other than the fish or laundry cuz it is so hot.  We were even too lazy to put the AC in the window.  It is at the top of the list now.  Good after work project.

Hey I learned another thing today.  I didn't realize that clicking on it made it work.  Thanks again.  See the wife (Carla) always wears a life jacket.  I tease her a little but like her wearing it.  When it gets faded a little she gets another one that is bright colored so I will see her if she falls in.  Funny as hell but safe as hell too...   We love to joke about it..

Morning all.  Well we took the Lund down to watch the fireworks last night since it is faster if we had bad weather.  There were lightning to the north and to the south of us on our way downriver.  We wondered if we should go but other boats were going by so we joined them.  As we waited for the kickoff the wind changed and it was getting hard to hold anchor.  Then the two storms merged and it was obvious it was coming over us.  We hauled ass for home as did some others.  We could watch the fireworks from our dock.  Seemed like they were lighting them fast.  Then the rain hit us.  A downpour of big drops so we ran for the house.  Had some pea sized hail for a few minutes too.  Glad we got home..  Well back to the mines today.

Good Morning.  Some rain last night [not much], the most rain went south of the cities.  Will get some rain soon though.    Making more beef jerky today, about 6 pounds or so.  This time I'm going to hold on to more than last time.  Family got most of it.  This diet is working pretty good.  Kind of like the Atkins diet but it goes by another name.  Want to get down to around 220 or maybe 210.  I got up to 240 and i will not buy a larger pant size LOL.  Not good for your health as well.

I really felt it this spring when I walked up and down the North Shore fishing for loopers and steelhead.  Checked my phone and I walked 2 1/2 miles.  Now that is not a walk in the park,  if you know the North Shore streams.  Especially the northern part of the shore near Grand Marais.  Had to use a support stick so I didn't fall off the edge of some of those trails.  After those two trips I convinced myself that I need to loose weight.  Not too many guys my age [68] walk those trails anymore.  I love it too much to give it up.  Same with deer hunting.  My much younger son-in laws drive the wheeler while I walk too and from my stand always.  Someday I will do the riding but for now it's hiking.  good luck.

Morning all. Steamy and ultra hume here in Swampville. Hot and muggy last nite watching the fireworks, which were nothing to write home about anyway. No rain yet; think the dewpoints already at 70. In the 90's for today; that should about make it like an equatorial rain forest here. I'm staying inside except to water my 'mato's. looks like stove-top stuff for dinner tonite...deck gets way too hot to stand and grill on. Keep cool and dry, guys.  :happy1:

Morning all. Back to the grind today after a nice 4 day weekend. At least it is Wednesday already. I could get used to a 3 day week. :happy1: I think for the whole weekend we got just over a quarter inch of rain. We could use a little more. Got some projects done and some fishing in. Even caught some fish too. Also killed a lot of Mich Goldens. :happy1: :happy1: Have a good one all.

Morning all. Thursday already. I could get used to these short weeks. Next week will be back to reality. Nice day yesterday, the lake was like a mirror when we got home from work last night. And the bonus was the neighbors had headed home. :happy1: Nice and peaceful. I cleaned up the mess on our patio from the neighbors fireworks. Frickin card board chunks every where. Also there was orange stuff all over the patio, So I washed that off. Also put some Miracle grow on the mater plants. Hoping with the warmer weather maybe they will start growing now. They have been sitting rather idle. Well, back to it. Have a good one all.

Ya me too JB.  I read awhile back about how screwed up our retirement system is.  Their theory is that as you get older you should be able to work shorter weeks.  Fewer hours each year.  That way we all may work longer and be able to contribute our knowledge to the work place but less and less hours till you are down to nothing.  I think that is not a bad theory.  We got the AC's installed last night.  Better late than never.  Should be nicer today.

Mornin boys. Some stormy stuff overnight here too, only about .25" of rain though. Thermostat registered 6 power interruptions though & I think the generator kicked in at leas 3, maybe 4 times. Went outside after the last time & didn't see any real damage here though. We made a road trip over to RH's favorite neck of the woods(Duluth) yday, back in GR by noon. Sure was steamy by that time. I got some laundry in & it sounds like it just finished, so I gotta go. Hope you have a good 1

You could need a chainsaw to get back in there 57. Big wind & rain about 5 but it didn't last very long for us, 5 maybe 10 minutes.
