Mornin' comrades! 50 at choretime heading for a high in the upper 70's. Saw some corn being planted yesterday so will be keeping an eye on it with the cooler weather ahead. Keeping the beard one more weekend markn. Wife hates it too but I remind her she's generally not the one busting her assets for hours at a time when it's colder than billy hell. I'll need to take it off soon though as I got some sun the past couple days. I'll look like heap big paleface if I wait much longer. Good luck to yer wife on her surgery boar. I'm sure glenn is on his way up there to help you out. Or at least drink yer beer.  :toast:

We have our yearly mandatory Saturday inventory tomorrow,  yippee at least it'll be crappy outside  so I won't be missing anything around here anyhow.  Probably hit FF sometime this weekend fer fishin licensing and some more jigs. Sure hope da wife's surgery went well Boar!! Gotta be tough for both of ya. Dotch n Markn will be getting carded once again at the gin n beer store after losing their winter coats  :happy1: .  Best run...See ya!!!

we had a little shot of rain here but did it ever cool down. it was 56 a little bit ago.

gotta tell ya this, the friends we have from Monticello have a wedding to go to tomorrow. the gals wife's son from a previous marriage.

the son has been with this gal for quite awhile, had a few kids. about 2 years ago they got married by a JP.  now they're going full all out, bridesmades ring bearers flower girls......the whole works. big reception at some downtown Minneapolis venue, you name it. only to get married again by a JP!!!!! now this is my own opinion but the amount of money thats getting totally pissed away to get married again by a JP is just downright stupid.....but hey not my money!!!!!!!

we got invited, but only to the reception afterward.......guess the venue has a 200 person limit and they were close to or exceeding that, so we could just go to the reception.  i told Sue no way in hell i'm going down there for just a reception.

So you guys got invited just to the dance, after dinner, Tough call. So what's the difference of a justice of the peace and a ordained minister doing the ceremony? Saving a few bucks? Both end up with the same results,  marriage certificate being signed.  I guess if they already are married might as well skip the legal stuff and throw a party.

Morning boys.  I am up early so coffee is brewing and dogs are fed.  So with this 4 day rain event that started Thursday we have gotten a few drops and that's it.  Still saying rain today but I don't even see anything on the radar.     It is 34 and very cloudy now.  Will take the tracks off today and go buy some oats.  Then probably watch the Twins this afternoon.  Ya people spend 10 or 20 grand on weddings and I think it is absolutely nuts.  Just think of all of the other peoples lives that are upended for an event like that too.  I don't get it.  Elope and save everyone the hassle.  Enjoy your Sat. everyone.

Morning boys. 35 here and supposed to be in the 40s with a chance of rain like LPS said. Certainly haven't gotten the rain like they forecasted. Ya, spending big money on a wedding is a big waste of money. Seems like most of them end up splitsville anyway. We had a small group and went to the judge in Anoka county then went out to dinner after. We put the money we won have spent on the wedding into our first house instead. Well, I made it out yesterday afternoon for the final day of walleye season and it was pretty good. My smallest walleye was 15" and even got a bonus pike to. Nicest fish I have had all season. Have a good one boys.

Hey look your bobber is up!

:happy1: :happy1: thats some mighty fine eating there JB!!!!!!!!

the first time i got married we had the big shindig...........that was back in about 1978. yep didnt last but was a church wedding, had a reception at a Moose lodge!

when Sue and i got married in 1990 we got married by  JP on our deck. had a party afterwards in the garage. we cooked up a nice grilled meal for immediate family. other friends where invited for the party think we did sloppy joes. we paid for it ourselves. the booze bill was $600.00 not sure what food cost us.  while we where out and about we'd play pulltabs........all the proceeds went to fund our wedding!!!!!!.........and here we are 33 years later still puttin up with each other!!!!! :happy1: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

You guys are making me feel old. In July it will be 43 years for us. On a happier note ;) we are doing Easter at our place today. Fill my face with ham and tators. Then later the dinner buns with too much butter and more ham. Yum. Later..... :happy1: :happy1:
