Very curious to hear how your rams do Dotch.  Good luck.  Are there buyers there that will buy them too?

Just got my flu shot at the clinic.  Have to go to Thrifty White to get RSV and Covid shots on Thursday.  Don't need an appt so will get that done too.  I have been reading that now they think the flu shot is very helpful to help prevent dementia.  That's all I know, need to read more about it.

   Good to hear you Mike.  Hopefully most of the stuff you lost won't matter in the long run.  My tower has to be 10 years old but still works.  Fingers crossed.  Welcome back.

Morning boys.  It is 36 and headed to 43.  I see the next couple of weeks we will be mostly in the 40's for highs and even a 50 a couple of days.  The resorts won't like that.  But I will.  I don't have  any orders from the wife today so I will relax and read my kindle.  Haven't used it much lately.  I have a great book loaded on it now. They are great things for us since we both read a lot.  There is not much snow left here.  Only in the trees and other shady spots. It rained pretty good last night so nice that it stayed warm.

Came home from camp to put up deer hides yesterday. 132 when we finished. I'll be headed back up there shortly. Drop some bills in the mail and drop off a check at Cenex for the new tank and the gas in it. Later..... :happy1: :happy1:

Mornin' comrades! 41 at choretime heading for a high in the mid-50's. A few sprinkles last nite around 9:30 but nothing measurable. Looks like it'll take a little break here, dipping down into the 40's for highs, then warming back into the 50's & possibly 60's again next week. I could be hauling chit in my shirtsleeves!  :happy1: Finally got the ram lambs loaded late yesterday afternoon. The guy was supposed to be here between 1 & 2 but due to a series of mishaps, didn't get there until ~4:30. A friend of ours brought a whole pickup load of pumpkins out to feed the sheep just after the trailer pulled out of the driveway. He was damned if he was going to dump them out in the field for the deer after they mowed his string beans off this spring. No doubt, there's plenty for them to eat from piles of spilled corn, dropped ears, hayfields, etc. No need to be feeding deer around here.

That's the hope or that someone who knows someone in need will see them & pass along the info that the rams are available. Both are decent stud ram material & could help improve a lot of flocks. Keeping more breeding rams around than needed burns up a lot of feed and hay. That and they love smashing the crap out of gates, panels and equipment. Just as soon they smashed up gates, panels and equipment somewhere else. 🤭

Like markn, I too picked up and processed deer hides for MDHA. Three of us salted 180 hides today. My arms are tired.

I was going to spout off and say that there weren't 180 total deer shot in my entire zone, but then I decided I better check my facts first.
I hunted zone 197:  473 total, with 368 adult male.   :doah:  :embarrassed:  I was off by 2.6-times the number of hides DE salted, but my guess wasn't THAT far off.    :pouty:

Other zones of interest up Nort'...

Zone 172:  770 total, with 603 bucks.
Zone 679 (CWD Management):  1019 total, with 534 bucks.
Zone 169 (Wolf Preservation Unit):  361 total, with 292 bucks.

You can lookup your own zone here:  2023 Preliminary deer harvest data

Oh I don't doubt that Glenn,  maybe ma can get ya a winch for Xmas  :happy1: The only Ram I have in these parts Dotch doesn't have 4 legs and an attitude!! Afternoon peoples,  momma and her misfit friends left here this morning so the pooch and I are on our own til Sunday, which kinda stinks cuz I gotta walk ol Remi at 0130 tomorrow morning to make sure he goes #2 before I leave him til I get home. Has Friday off so there won't be any of that nonsense.  Just chased the push mow lawner around and Zapped leaves again, can't believe the grass is still growing,  musta grown close to an inch in areas since last week. Anywho,  I'm thinking something in the wave for dinner then do my best impression of AL Bundy on the couch...See ya!!!

Morning boys.  It is all white here again.  We got maybe 2 or 3".  Was all back to green before the new snow.  Still coming down lightly.  30 degrees. May get up to 37.  Moisture expected all day.  I need to go to town and get half and half and fresh bakery bread.  Will make Roonys Rueben soup tomorrow. Have a strip steak out for tonight. I can get fresh rye bread on Monday or Thursday.  Love it.  From the bakery across the river at the town of Rainy River but they bring it to LOW Foods here in town. Later, have a good one.
PS Mike bring the incoming weather thread back.  I can't find it.

Mornin' comrades! 30 at choretime heading for a high in the upper 40's. Had the guy out to look at replacing the basement windows this a.m. That should get done hopefully next week when it's nice out. Should help keep the snakes out of the house like the one that was pissing Poppy off the other day. The guy was probably more interested in the old granary than he was the window project. It needs to be torn down & he was interested in helping tear it down in exchange for some of the lumber. As Bob Dole used to say, America wins! I think he also said roony makes all the good soup & Barry gets all the good bread.  :pouty: I'm unsupervised again for a week as Mrs. Cheviot left for Louavul (Louisville) this morning. Should be some quality time spent with the dog.  :coffee:
