That day before vacation is always the one I love to hate.  I can't wait for it but trying to remember everything to bring is always the hassle.  Tomorrow it's Roster busting time

Light frost in some of the lower ground with a low of 36 Sounds like we get two more days before the curtain starts to close on an incredible growing season. Still plenty of things to finish up but they can be done once the weather starts to suck. Present forecasts have the brunt of the storm going north and west of us. That's a good thing as I really don't want to bring the sheep home from the offsite pasture yet. Can do it but would work out better to get the main barn cleaned first if possible.

Being it may be the last nice day for a while, my wife and I plan to go to the hunting cabin and put things in order for winter. Not too much cleaning required as it was a warm, dry hunting season so not much dirt was tracked in.  Also plan to put stabilizer in the Argo, generator and brush mower and pick up trail cameras. Mostly plan to just enjoy a pleasant day at the cabin in the woods.

Morning Gents. Already starting to get windy here this morning. Looks like we are going to miss out on the big blast of snow. Oh darn. I think we are just going to get the wind. We all know how much the deer like to move when the wind is howling, not planning on see much this weekend. I will keep hoping though. I am off to hunt tomorrow. Plan to sit all day in the almost blizzard. Have a good one.

Ya that is what I am thinking too JB.  I am planning to sit in my stand with a heater Sat and Sun for the last blast.  Would be kind of cool to see it get white for awhile.  With the ground this warm I don't think it would last long so that is a good thing too. I hope to get out on the river a few more times so am not going to pull the boat yet.

Fixin' to get ready for an action packed weekend of barn cleaning. Got the oil changed in the tractor and skidloader last night after chores. All I gotta do is hook up, lube up and let 'er buck. Oooo, sounds kinda kinky, don't it?  Looks like we should be spared from the brunt of the storm. Still plenty of putz jobs to complete this afternoon and evening. Nothing on TV anyway. Mrs. Cheviot won't be back until late Friday night or Saturday a.m. so I should be well rested for evasive maneuvers.

What is this world coming to? Last week two Pittsburgh area police were ambushed and one died. The day of the killing a guy posted on face book "f" the cops he got what he deserved. Yesterday was the funeral and during the procession to the cemetery a guy in a car had his arm out the window flipping the hundreds of passing officers not to mention the widow and her children. A picture of his car is all over social media showing his license plate so I think he will get his in the end. I had a friend since grade school that was a k9 officer in town that was ambushed and killed in 2011 so this is a touchy subject to me. The guy that said f the cops was picked up and arrested the follow day for outstanding warrants so he is getting his already

That's sad cookie. I would not want to be a cop in today's society. My brother lives in Philly and has told about similar instances there. Not that there aren't some bad shootings. However that is no excuse for vigilante-ism against the cops. If we don't do a better job of supporting our law enforcement, it's going to be every man for himself like the Wild West.

It's gone to hell in a handbasket, coffee. I spent 30 + yrs in the LE field, and we were usually well respected. I'd like to personally  get a hold of some of that scum that's out there now.....I have to stop right here.

I saw and talked to him the night before he was killed.every year I still watch the YouTube of his last call over county radio (derrick kotecki last call)and I still get emotional. I was talking to a local officer and he was saying that it is no longer against the law to flip off an officer it is everybody's constitutional right. He said he can't wait for 3 more years so he can retire

Last night the UPS buy pulls into the driveway.  I walked out to meet him at his truck and said it is always fun to have the UPS guy bring us something.  We got to talking and he said he was once a teacher and graduated with a degree in Law Enforcement so he has done both and he said he is so happy being the UPS guy where people are actually happy to see him..   Said parents of bad students had spit on him slapped him and cussed at him so many times and he told them they were the reason the students were not achieving.  lol

My gosh, what is this country coming to. I have nothing to hide so if the law wants to stop me daily or stop by the house I'm always willing to give em a hand shake. Mulched again yesterday, judging by the lazy neighbors trees I might not be done yet so weather permitting I'll go at it again.

After going through the blower I never drained the fuel this past spring, but the non oxy and tron fuel  additive I had it running on the second pull, so hopefully we get some snow so I can burn up last year's fuel.

Morning feller's. Sitting out in the deer blind this morning. Plenty windy this morning. No snow for us up here. Yes, the situation with the disrespect of cops is horrible. I feel it is going to get worse before getting better.  I can also see less and less people going into LE. 9 times out of 10 there is a reason the cops are questioning you. So to here about your friend cawffee. Well back to watching for Mr buck. Have a good day.

morning folks!!!!!!! keeping an eye on the weather. more concerns about my wife who's in rochester with the granddaughter. there supposed to be checked out by 10 am. the granddaughter had her hip broke in 3 places and remodeled so my concern is an accident with her in the car. hope they use there head and stay in minneapolis at the grandaughters mothers place.

also depending on road and weather glenn my bail outta work also. da boss hasto head to bismarck yet today!!!!!
