Morning guys and yes 2:42 am is truly morning guys. Yes I to am blessed with a sweetheart of a wife. She has let me do just about anything I want. Raced some cars in endures. fishing trips , hunting trips, pool leagues, golf leagues, buying my boat was huge like the most money we have ever spent in our life. Moving up here, just to name a few. Will be 39 years the 6th of jan. she was 15 when we married and I was 1 day 18 . Thick and thin, better or worse. ricer or poorer she as stuck with me and we have never left each other .
I'm going to try and post a pic of a crack that went under montana a few years ago. The steal runners were froze to the ice from friction of just sitting as it was not blocked up. As the crack slowly got bigger it tore the 3 inch welds  and ripped the runner right off the house.

The rest of the story. I do not  remember there names but they were in the house when it  broke off.  I came back and they were like The house shook really bad? Should we move our truck? Trying to remember why I had the pics  when it was I inch wide. I remember going to shore to get blue thunder and move asap? I may of been putting out some other fire  as it was brutal out. when it happened and that wall was facing west and we had nw blowing in. That is probably why it cracked as a big pressure change.  Plus it did not help I had the house about 20 yards from a pressure ridge. When it cracked It cracked into a giant pie shape and was basically floating on a chunk of  ice the size of a football field  very Crazy   But just another day on the lake LOL

Oh the joys of dealing with mother nature. She can be brutal. Morning fellers, 22* this morning with some wind. I would guess we got 5-6" of snow yesterday. Some banking material now. The weather people are talking about a foot plus here over xmas. Boy I really hope they are wrong. I would prefer to see some more ice before major snow. We also need the swamps to freeze so we can start cutting our tamarack for the winter. Would be nice to get started cutting in the next couple of weeks. Well, it is almost Friday. Have a good day all!

Kinda sounds like we're going to get more rain and ice than snow down thisaway. Had lots of fun last night after tearing the valve stem off the rear tire on the tractor while moving round bales. I knew right away what it was when I heard the pffffffffft! For ballast the rear tires are full of calcium chloride. Very corrosive and makes one helluva mess when it sprays all over stuff. Kills grass deader than hell until it leaches out enough for it to grow back. Had the tire guy out this a.m. and he got me up and running again. Don't use the tractor every day but several times a week especially when it snows. When I need it, it has to function.

For many years we hit 4 places in 2 days over Xmas and made it work, now since the kids are older it's been spread out over 4 different days on different weekends in Dec and now Jan....man that pizzes me off. Well anywho... ho ho ho all.

lol..boar ya make me laugh. That beet juice would have to be some nasty stuff especially after rolling around inside a tire for a while. Prolly full of salts of one kind or another so it doesn't freeze. I bet the price is right though. Speaking of cheap & beets, we used to grind the dried sugarbeet petioles from fertilizer test plots for chemical analysis when I was in college. They gave us crummy dust masks to wear but that crap would still get in yer nose anyway. Got some hellacious nosebleeds from it.

Coming down the homestretch for Christmas. Think I've got a pass to do most of my shopping after Christmas since I've been getting stuck with the brunt of the grunt work around home. I refuse however to shave my legs and don a skirt. A kilt maybe but I still ain't shaving my legs. Don't want to start doing some of that decorating stuff because once you do, they suddenly think it's your job. We don't have our once alive tree up yet, partially because we won't have any Christmas celebrations until after the first week in January. Works for me. It looks just fine parked in front of the Studebaker for now. In the meantime I can have another GT and think about it.  :happy1:

I went to work for an hour today.  lol   I was just thinking of all the stuff I have to do before this storm hits so I left.  I am so glad I did.  Man have I overachieved today.  I brought 8 round bales scattered in the pasture for the horses.  That should last 2 months.  Got rods today for Ice Rigs and got them prepped for the neighbor boy to bend.  Yes I pay him well for it too.  Great kid.  Then I checked the fish house and it is still in propane and nice and warm.  Got a fresh bag of shiners out for this afternoon.  Fueled up the ol Ford and my cans for the toys.  THEN I stopped for some stuff to sip this weekend....     :happy1:  All of that before noon.  Then I had eggs with some of my sausage and now am going to take a little nap before I hit the fish house.  Man what a great life.....   Oh man it is 37 degrees here.  Unreal.  I hope that storm doesn't materialize.  SO Rebs want us to talk about his hose and the NL......   SO he IS slinking next door....

Good morning and merry Christmas Eve to all. Up early been at it since 3:30 this morning as we have lots to make today. Having Mom, brother, sis in law and the nieces and nephew over tonight. On the menu is lasagna and stuffed shells, garlic bread, taco salad, totchos, buffalo chicken dip, crab dip, shrimp cocktail,  cheese/meat tray. To keep tradition and memories of my grand father and father alive a big hunk of Limburger cheese on pumpernickel with purple onion, yes it's rank but it doesn't taste too bad. Y'all have a great Christmas be it by yourselves or with loved ones and be safe.
if you kick me when I'm down you better pray I don't get up.

Mornin'! I'm in delivery boy mode this a.m. so will have to be on my guard in case some lovely ladies come to the door with nothing on. On 2nd thought, if that happens knowing the places I'm going, I'll throw the stuff in the door and run!  :happy1: After I finish running, I'm headed to Fareway to hopefully grab a couple NY strips & some spuds. Then on to Cashwise to pick up some stuff on sale there. Be nice to find an in store special on gin. Supply took a nasty hit in November & December. Good thing I made 2 trips to Canada and not just the one! Have a good one fellers!  :coffee:
